by Drishti Mistry

Mahalaya has occurred and the warrior goddess has left from her abode, her children in tow to grace our homes. Sweets prepared, pandals ornamented, fineries glistened- all the arrangements have been made for the grand welcome and her auspicious stay – now it’s time to let your wardrobe take the front seat. To help you put your most fashionable foot forward this durga puja, we’ve got you covered for both parts of the day- equal parts stylish and comfortable.

Sashti- Day 1

It is the inaugural day, so effortless elegance is the key for this morning- stick to minimal silhouettes crafted from the finest fabrics like a chanderi kurta or a lightweight pastel salwar suit. Complete the look with- dainty danglers and delicate bracelets.

Second Half

Extend the effortless aesthetic from the morning upgrade it with some bling and colour for the evening- for instance, a popping tunic paired with dhoti pants and dupatta or the sartorial saree to take you through the communal potluck of the evening. Complete the look with- embroidered batua and precious danglers.

Saptami- Day 2

This is the time when the celebrations start to gain momentum- cultural performances, Rabindra sangeet and engaging competitions- dress the part in vibrant sarees or embellished kurtas paired with palazzo pants. Complete the look with- overstated sling bags and bedazzled doorknocker earrings.
